What is Rebel Paris Tours?
I’m Jen Boyd and this is my company, Rebel Paris Tours. I lead walking and cycling tours in Paris and Versailles. I also run a monthly newsletter, and a made-in-Paris gift shop.
Rebel Paris Tours is created for curious travellers looking to learn more about the city through fabulous storytelling and a really fun experience. The newsletter and the gift shop are extensions of this experience that deliver a little piece of Paris and it’s remarkable history back to wherever they call home.
I believe guiding is a service. I have met hundreds of people on tour from different backgrounds and belief systems and I am moved by how face-to-face storytelling, away from screens, focused on a shared moment, inspires and brightens and brings people together. I absolutely love being a guide and bring passion, joy, and humour to every single tour I lead.
I tell unexpected stories
I tell the inspiring stories behind three groups of people: the Royals, the Revolutionaries, and of course, the Rebels. These are the stories of media, technology, and power, the central story axis behind every king, and the motivation for nearly every iconic monument in the city. These are not just the stories of the Church and the Monarchy. They are also the stories of the underground press, the rivalries among a fiercely taxed and regulated workforce, and the fascinating rise of the bourgeoisie. They encompass food, fashion, art, architecture, and centuries of innovation. These are the stories of the lesser-known rebels changing history behind the scenes, the stories that bring Parisian culture to life.
My tours are not about highlights, or secrets, or a “different” way to see Paris. That doesn’t even make any sense to me. I'm saying, let's go on a walk, you'll never believe how cool this city is.

I loved the walking tour of St. Germain and came away understanding how a neighborhood with 1,500 years of history became the cultural phenomenon it is today. The route loops from Invalides, Pont Alexandre III, Grand/Petit Palais, Place de la Concorde, the Louvre, through the street art tunnel, past Notre Dame, into Saint Germain, and back to the Eiffel Tower. It is designed to showcase the heart of the city with some lovely, family-friendly cycling along the quais of the Seine. It’s a gorgeous ride and can be sold as a highlights tour.

We return our bikes and take a snack break before I drop my guests off at the Palace for a timed entry at 15h30. It is a truly magical day trip.

Who is Rebel Paris Tours for?
Rebel Paris Tours is for curious travellers. My most responsive guests are 35–70 years old with a little money to spend. They are couples, families, and groups of friends or coworkers. They like a relaxed vibe and an energetic, genuine delivery. It doesn't seem to matter if my groups are in Paris for the first time, or even live here—they all experience something new and surprising. I'm pretty good at getting into the weeds with curious eight-year-olds, too. My tours are definitely family-friendly.
How can we work together?
I am on LinkedIn but, as an anti-scroll ally, Rebel Paris Tours does not participate in any other social media platforms. Extraordinary Paris walking tour
Extraordinary Paris begins at the 6th-century church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. We'll walk down charming side streets, take in the monumental views from the Seine, and pass through centuries-old arcades as we discover the madness, glory, and cultural wildfire that propelled Paris out of the age of kings and into the city we recognise today.
We'll pass by the Musée d'Orsay, the Académie Française, the Louvre, the Palais Royal, and many, many significant sites. The route is gorgeous and full of surprises. It's designed with a couple of truly spectacular "reveals" as we turn a corner or ascend a staircase. The tour concludes near Les Halles, the historic "stomach of Paris" at Rue Montorgueil, the oldest remaining market street in the city. It's the perfect place to grab a meal, a pastry, or a glass of wine after the tour.
